Biography

Kate Robbins has come a long way from her early days in Liverpool as a cocktail pianist... Born into a musical family (ex-Beatle Paul McCartney is a cousin of her mother) Kate made a name for herself after moving to London in 1980. Kate represented the UK in The Eurovision Song Contest in a band PRIMA DONNA - They came a respectable 3rd! She then went on to have a Number 2 hit record in '81 with MORE THAN IN LOVE which sold over half a million copies and earned her a Gold Disc

Following this success Kate hosted two TV series for Granada TV in Manchester with KATE AND TED'S SHOW, then THE KATE ROBBINS SHOW in which she composed all the original comedy songs and musical score.

Kate by now had achieved a great reputation as an impressionist as well as singer/musician/composerShe was the lead female voice on the satirical hit TV series SPITTING IMAGE for 9 years from '87 to '96

Kate has starred in many TV shows such as THE COMIC STRIP, Victoria Wood's DINNERLADIES,LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE, SATURDAY LIVE WITH BEN ELTON,THE HARRY ENFIELD SHOW, PETER KAY'S PHOENIX NIGHTS, and Kate played alongside Matt Lucas and David Walliams in YOU ARE HERE on Channel 4

In 2006 Kate started her movie career appearing in the award winning film 16 YEARS OF ALCOHOL written and directed by Richard Jobson. Following this Kate went on to win BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS at the Monaco Film Festival in 2007 for her portrayal of ' Kathleen ' in the movie FATED

Kate then appeared alongside Hollywood giants James Franco and Jean Reno in the Blockbuster FLYBOYS for her role of French Madame  'Clarisse' and who could forget Kate in SEX LIVES OF THE POTATO MEN with Johnny Vegas and Mackenzie Crook?!

Now Kate has returned to her musical roots with the jazz/soul album SOHO NIGHTS which was recorded at the legendary Abbey Road studios.

Kate wrote SOHO NIGHTS in collaboration with maestro COMPOSER/SAXOPHONIST Alessandro Tomei whom she met in Rome at a concert. They decided to compose together and Italian legend guitarist Antonio Forcione plays on the album and also produced the only cover track, The Beatles' IN MY LIFE

The album is a rich blend of sixties infused soul/jazz, and has already reached number 6 a couple of months ago in the AMAZON down load charts
