David MensahApril 2008 saw the digital release of Mensah’s first solo offering “Food of Love” through Universal Music. ‘Food of Love’ is Mensah’s contribution to a compilation album entitled “A Change is Gonna Come” which was recorded to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade. For this project Mensah joined forces with legendary artists such as the 30 million record selling and multi award winning artist Billy Ocean, Grammy award winner Junior Giscombe, Ruby Turner, Janet Kay and Roachford to name a few. Proceeds from the album are being donated to charities, Save the Children and the Freetown Society, who do a sterling job to stamp out modern day forms of slavery. Following the digital release of “Food of Love” a sampler EP featuring the forthcoming single “My Day” was released to radio which attracted great interest from some of the country’s leading Dj’s climbing to the number 10 spot on the Solar Radio Sweet Rhythm Chart, as well as holding a top 5 slot for several weeks on the Soul connexions chart and currently play listed on the following stations with support growing daily:

David has just returned from a whistle stop tour of the United States performing to rave reviews at the Greater Hartford Jazz Festival to capacity audiences of 30,000 and at more intimate venues around Manhattan and Brooklyn. He is now available for interviews in the build up to his album release.
